We are the data controller for the information described here. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where they apply to you, the data protection laws of the country you are in.
What we collect
- When you contact us. If you email, call or WhatsApp us, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us about your business.
- When you book a call. Bookings are made through Calendly, which collects your name, email and the time you choose, and shares them with us. Calendly's own privacy policy applies to that page.
- When you use the AI assistant on our site. The message you type is sent to Google's Gemini service to generate a reply. We do not store your messages, and we ask that you do not type personal or confidential information into it.
- When you visit the website. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to serve and secure the site. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which also sees your IP address. We use no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers.
- Private film pages. Some pages on this site are made for one company and shared only by link. They are hidden from search engines. They record nothing about who watches beyond the hosting logs above.
Businesses we reach out to
We look for businesses our work could help using public information: company websites, public job posts and public posts on social media. When we contact a business, we use the business contact details it has published. We keep a record of the company, the person we spoke to, their role, their business contact details and notes of our conversation, so that we follow up properly and do not contact anyone twice.
If you would rather we did not contact you, reply to say so or write to hello@talesconsulting.com. We will stop, and delete your details on request.
Our social media pages
We publish our own posts, videos and articles on our pages on LinkedIn, X and Instagram. Some of this is prepared and scheduled with our own software, which connects to each platform through its official interfaces and publishes only after a person at Tales approves each post.
We use these connections to publish and manage our own content. We do not use them to collect personal data about the people who follow, view or engage with our pages, and we do not build profiles of them. When you interact with our pages, the platform's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.
How we use it
- To reply to you, arrange calls and discuss your needs.
- To deliver work you have engaged us for, and to invoice for it.
- To introduce our services to businesses that may need them, as described above.
- To keep the website running and secure.
We rely on your consent where you have given it, on the steps needed to enter into or perform a contract with you, and on our legitimate interest in running and growing our business, balanced against your rights. We never sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to operate, such as website hosting, email, call booking, messaging and the social platforms we publish on, each bound by its own data protection terms.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it. Some of these providers store data outside Nigeria, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law allows, such as the provider's contractual commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while we are talking with you or working together, and for as long as the law requires afterwards, for example for tax and accounting records. We delete what we no longer need, and we delete your details sooner if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Keeping it safe
Access to personal information is limited to the people at Tales who need it. Our accounts are protected with strong authentication, and access keys for our tools are kept out of shared code and documents. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop or limit how we use it, including stopping all marketing contact;
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time.
Write to hello@talesconsulting.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be noted here.
